East Dock Office

The challenge of this visualisation was to translate the singularity of a building that refuses the norm of its context. Within a dense fabric of corporate towers, East Dock asserts itself through the deliberate fragmentation of its volumes, the interplay of projections and recesses that decompose the facade into layers, conferring on the whole a presence that is simultaneously monumental and organic.

The glass skin was the central element of the visual approach. On overcast days, the facade reflects the London sky with an almost painterly intensity, merging the building with the atmosphere of the city. The compositions explore this shifting quality of the surface, where architecture does not separate itself from its environment but incorporates and amplifies it.

Vegetation here is not a decorative element. Integrated into every recess, terrace and rooftop, it transforms the building's silhouette into a vertical landscape in permanent mutation. The images were crafted to show the productive tension between the rigidity of the structure and the exuberance of the greenery that colonises it floor by floor.

The urban framing was treated as an essential part of the narrative. The scale of Tower Hill, the density of neighbouring buildings, and the movement of the wet street at ground level construct the necessary contrast to reveal the truly iconic character of East Dock: a building that transforms its corner into a landmark.
